The Advanced Search options make it easier for you to improve your results by searching for combinations of words or limiting your search to certain parts of the content.
Click Advanced Search below the Search box to activate and reveal the Advanced Search Options.
Type a word or multiple words into the Search entry box.
There are two ways in which the Advanced Search Options refine your search: First, the way in which your search terms are grouped; second, the parts of the content where the search looks for your term(s).
To specify how your search terms should be grouped, choose one of the three options listed under Search using:
All search terms: Use this option when you have multiple search words and would like all of your search words to appear in the results. Example: German shepherd would return only results that contain both German and shepherd.
Any search terms: Use this option when you would like any one or all of your search words to appear in the results. Example: German shepherd would return results that contain the word German or the word shepherd, as well as results with both words.
Exact phrase: Use this option when you would like to find results with identical matches to the words you entered in the Search entry box. Example: German shepherd would return only results that contain the exact phrase ôGerman shepherd,ö and not results with a phrase like, ôGerman farmers would hire a shepherd to tend their flock.ö
Now, choose one of the options listed under Show results to tell the Search where to look for your term(s):
Matching titles only: Use this option to find results in which your search term(s) appears in the title of the article, image, or multimedia.
Any matching text: Use this option to find results in which your search term(s) appears in the title, article body, image caption, or any other text.
You can then click Go or press Enter to see the results of your Search.
Tip: You can use the Advanced Search options in various combinations to focus your searching. For example, try searching for combinations of words (All search terms) in the titles only (Matching titles only).
